Molecular systematics and taxonomic overview of the bird's nest fungi (Nidulariaceae)

چکیده

Fungi in the Nidulariaceae, otherwise known as ‘bird's nest fungi’, are among least studied groups of Agaricomycetes (Basidiomycota). Bird's fungi globally distributed and typically grow on woody debris or animal dung saprotrophs. This group is morphologically diverse with ca. 200 described species. Phylogenetic relationships bird's were investigated four commonly used loci (ITS, LSU, tef, rpb2). The family was resolved a monophyletic Squamanitaceae potential sister taxon. Cyathus Crucibulum each formed its own independent well-supported clade. Nidula Nidularia clade together, but genus polyphyletic. Two Mycocalia species included our analyses their separate branches, indicating that this also Misidentifications detected most genera, suggesting concepts need to be revisited refined throughout Nidulariaceae. Several have global geographical distributions whereas others may more limited ranges. Basic morphological characters likely been lost gained multiple times. phylogenetic placement unclear lineage not conclusive. Further studies data from rare additional informative genes needed fully resolve topology Nidulariaceae identify certainty.

Molecular systematics of New World suboscine birds.

Phylogenetic relationships among New World suboscine birds were studied using nuclear and mitochondrial DNA sequences. New World suboscines were shown to constitute two distinct lineages, one apparently consisting of the single species Sapayoa aenigma, the other made up of the remaining 1000+ species of New World suboscines. With the exception of Sapayoa, monophyly of New World suboscines was s...

state and at a private university. Despite the great diversity among them, there is a common theme. All universities have flaws, but the ideal is a universal one, a place where scholars are free to study and teach, and young people to learn. Dense taxonomic EST sampling and its applications for molecular systematics of the Coleoptera (beetles).

Expressed sequence tag (EST) sequences can provide a wealth of data for phylogenetic and genomic studies, but the utility of these resources is restricted by poor taxonomic sampling. Here, we use small EST libraries (<1,000 clones) to generate phylogenetic markers across a broad sample of insects, focusing on the species-rich Coleoptera (beetles). We sequenced over 23,000 ESTs from 34 taxa, whi...
